Calling Albert Young

Olympian Carl Lewis has cleared one hurdle in his bid to run as a Dem for State Senate in the 8th Legislative District. An administrative law judge on Wednesday dismissed a GOP challenge that Lewis did not meet residency requirements. But it ain't over yet.
The judge's nonbinding recommendation goes to Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, who also serves as the secretary of state, for a review and final ruling to be issued no later than Thursday. Either side can appeal her decision in court.
Lewis certainly would add pizazz to the State Senate race. Unfortunately, Moorestown voters would miss out on all the fun. The recent reapportionment pushed Moorestown out of the 8th LD and into the 7th LD, a district which includes Lewis' hometown of Willingboro and now is represented by another celebrity pol (and Moorestown native) Sen. Diane Allen.
