Out walking the other day as a freight train passed along the line through town. Just a couple of cars with engines at front and rear. I was real close to the tracks and could see the engineer sitting high up in the locomotive. I waved and he nodded back. Don't think I've waved to a railroad engineer since I was a kid, when the exalted engineer could make my day by acknowledging me with a wave or nod.
Great excuse for some "Smokestack Lightnin'."
