Coptergate: The View from the Hawkeye State

Think it's bad in Jersey? It's worse in Iowa. The Iowa GOP is dominated by the Tea Party and fundamentalists. And the GOP field for Iowa's first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses looks like a barrelful of rancid pickles. The so-called moderate Hawkeye State GOPers who met with Chris Christie May 31 hoped he would be their savior. But their hopes were blown away in the backwash of Coptergate.

The only problem is, in Iowa we don't care for politicians who use a state police helicopter at taxpayer expense to fly with the missus to see their son's baseball game, which Christie did the day the Iowans were there.

Adding that in Jersey, we don't care for our Guv choppering from the game to a meeting with wealthy, out-of-state politicos.
