The Chopper

Gov. Christie signs $29.7 billion budget, after nixing $900 in spending proposed by Democrats. He rejected the "millionaires tax" while slashing funding for education, Medicaid, programs for the poor and elderly, and aid for cash-strapped cities and city police departments. The budget Christie signed, however, does include $180 million in corporate tax cuts.

Christie claimed that Democrats wanted to embarrass him with their budget. "But look at me," he said, "I'm beyond embarrassment." Unclear if Dems will be able to override Christie's cuts.
