What's Jon Up 2

Rep. Jon Runyan (R, NJ-3) was one of 42 GOP freshman House babies … er … members to sign a letter to President Obama complaining that Dems were being mean to them. Seems the Dems are jumping all over the GOP for passing a budget last month that will privatize Medicare by transforming it from a fee-for-service to a voucher program beginning in 2022.

It’s ironic (if there is such a thing anymore) that many of the letter’s signatories used the same so-called “MediSCARE” tactics they now decry during their campaigns last year, falsely claiming that the Democrats’ health-care reform law would slash Medicare for seniors.

Jon Runyan couldn’t make the claim directly against his opponent, incumbent Democrat John Adler (RIP), because Adler voted against health-care reform. But he did get mightily ticked off when Adler accused him of supporting Medicare privatization and promised that he would not support privatization as part of entitlement reform.

No wonder Runyan hasn't held a constituent town hall meeting.
