Mystery solved. C-Span 2 swapped out on local Comcast "Limited Basic" package for ... wait for it ... QVC! Part of Comcast's "network enhancement." Now we can watch the hard sell of QVC, rather than sold souls of the Senate.
At least when I watch QVC I have the hope that what they're selling will make me feel more stylish, beautiful, smarter, etc. After watching C-span I often have to abandon any hope that things will get better.
